Hiya LETC peeps! Some quick updates for the weekend and beyond...
Weather is looking good for this Saturday given its January. Soooo... the easy uncoached ride is a "go" leaving from Bean Around the World on Cornwall at 10 am. Please make sure you dress for cold weather! Jacket, tights, winter shoe covers, good warm cycling gloves and possibly a hat or ear protection under your helmet.
Next weekend, weather permitting, we are planning our first "destination ride" of 2009 leaving from Park Royal to Horseshoe Bay. Meeting ready to ride at 10 am by the White Spot at the SW corner of Marine Dr. and Taylor Way in Park Royal in West Vancouver.
There are some toys we'd like you to pick up, if you don't have them already, and bring to swim practices on Sundays;
- pull buoy: a flotation device you hold between your legs
- strap: a flexible elastic band big enough to go around your ankles to prevent kicking while swimming. You can make one out of an old mountain (or road) bike inner tube or a length of thera-band.
- fins (or flippers): for swimming- are much shorter than diving fins. Make sure to size them well!
We're thinking of doing a trial of sending Google Calendar updates to club members with workout locations and updates. These updates can be by e.mail or SMS. If you'd like to test this out, send LETC an e.mail (with your cell number if you'd like SMS alerts too) and we'll get things started. Limited trial for now, open to all who ask "latah".
